A community for Data Protection Officers

Protect what people trust you with.

PDPO Club brings together privacy professionals to practice the craft of data protection — together, and out loud.

We talk about the breaches, fines, and edge cases that other rooms quietly avoid.

§ 01 / About

Compliance is a practice, not a checkbox.

The role of the Data Protection Officer is lonely by design. You're the one asking the awkward question in the product meeting, drafting the answer the regulator hasn't asked for yet, and translating "necessary and proportionate" into a decision someone in marketing can actually use.

PDPO Club exists because that work goes better in good company. We're practitioners learning from practitioners — over case studies, draft policies, breach post-mortems, and the occasional argument about what a "legitimate interest" actually is.

No vendor pitches. No surface-level webinars. Just the substantive conversations DPOs need and rarely get to have.

§ 02 / Activities

Four things, done well.

01

Roundtables

Monthly closed-door sessions where members bring real situations — under Chatham House Rule — and work through them with peers who've seen something similar.

02

Workshops

Hands-on practice. We run DPIAs, build ROPAs from scratch, rehearse breach notifications, and pressure-test consent flows together.

03

Bulletins

A short weekly note covering what changed across GDPR, UAE PDPL, DIFC, and beyond — written in plain language, with the practical "so what" up front.

04

Mentorship

First-time DPOs paired with experienced ones. Not formal coaching — just someone to call when you're not sure whether to escalate, and you need an honest read.

§ 03 / Calendar

What's coming up.

§ 04 / Membership

Who this is for.

You'll fit in if you are

  • A working Data Protection Officer, in-house or fractional
  • A privacy counsel, compliance lead, or InfoSec officer who owns data protection
  • A consultant practicing privacy seriously, not as a side service
  • A student or career-switcher heading toward the DPO role
  • Anyone who takes the careful handling of personal data as a discipline, not a chore

Membership opens quarterly.

Send a short note about your role and what you'd like to get out of the club. We read every application and reply within a week.
